ERIC Comments on Maryland Paid Sick Leave

The ERISA Industry Committee (“ERIC”) applauds the Maryland General Assembly’s efforts to increase access to paid sick and safe leave to its workers, but believe it should be accomplished in a manner that does not hinder employers in the process. The “Maryland Healthy Working Families Act” (“Act”), while well-intentioned, provides limited time for employers to make the necessary changes in order to be in compliance with the Act by February 11, 2018 (i.e., the implementation date of the Act)
