WASHINGTON, DC – February 11, 2026 – The Partnership for Employer-Sponsored Coverage (P4ESC) members today are bringing employer-focused solutions to Capitol Hill, with James Gelfand, President and CEO of The ERISA Industry Committee (ERIC) and Dr. Lee Gross, Founder of Epiphany Health Direct Primary Care and member of National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), testifying in hearings centered on the cost and access pressures facing patients and employers.
“Prescription drug costs and access to primary care providers are central issues for employers who provide health care to workers and their families,” said Taylor Hittle, Executive Director of P4ESC. “P4ESC members are bringing main street to Washington, D.C. to help Congress understand the challenges facing employers and patients. Consolidation in the market has caused providers to be gobbled up by hospitals and the drug supply chain has been a boon to middlemen who don’t disclose their prices or fees. It’s time to inject the market with new solutions driven by innovators.”
James Gelfand, President and CEO of ERIC will testify in front of the Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee in a hearing titled “Lowering Health Care Costs for All Americans: An Examination of the Prescription Drug Supply Chain.” Dr. Lee Gross, Founder of Epiphany Health Direct Primary Care and NFIB member will testify in front of the Senate Aging Committee in a hearing titled “The Doctor Is Out: How Washington’s Rules Drove Physicians Out of Medicine.”
P4ESC is a coalition of employment-based organizations and trade associations representing businesses of all sizes and sectors, and the millions of Americans and their families who rely on employer-sponsored coverage every day. Employer-sponsored coverage has been the backbone of our nation’s health care system for nearly eight decades and is the single largest source of coverage. https://www.p4esc.org
