ERIC Supports Healthy Competition for Better Care Act

Washington, DC – The following statement is in response to new legislation focused on large health systems that enter into health plan coverage contracts and should be attributed to Annette Guarisco Fildes, President and CEO of The ERISA Industry Committee (ERIC):

“The ERISA Industry Committee applauds Senators Mike Braun and Tammy Baldwin for introducing the Healthy Competition for Better Care Act and providing a pathway to high-value health care options for patients.

ERIC’s large employer member companies work hard to offer the best health benefits to their employees. But, for far too long, anti-competitive practices have caused health care prices to spike while keeping Americans from receiving the best care possible.

The Healthy Competition for Better Care Act will help lower skyrocketing health care costs, promote patients’ choice of providers, and allow patients to access the best possible care.

ERIC pledges to work with lawmakers to ensure the Healthy Competition for Better Care Act is swiftly passed into law.”
