ERIC Joins in Launching Employers’ Prescription for Affordable Drugs Coalition

For Immediate Release

Washington, DC – The following statement should be attributed to James Gelfand, Senior Vice President, Health Policy, The ERISA Industry Committee (ERIC):

The ERISA Industry Committee is pleased to join the Pacific Business Group on Health (PBGH) and the National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions in launching Employers’ Prescription for Affordable Drugs (EmployersRx). The coalition will mobilize large employers to drive down drug costs by advocating for policies that will strengthen market forces and increase competition as part of a value-based health care system.

“Employers are doing everything they can to address high drug costs, but Congress must pass durable policies that increase transparency, competition and value in the health care marketplace. EmployersRx will be actively recruiting employers and purchaser coalitions and equipping them with the materials needed to go to the Hill and support legislation that will help drive down drug costs.”
