ERIC Applauds President Trump’s Push to End Surprise Medical Billing

Washington, DC – The following statement should be attributed to Annette Guarisco Fildes, President and CEO of The ERISA Industry Committee (ERIC):

“The ERISA Industry Committee applauds President Trump’s push to end the surprise medical billing crisis and call for Congress to move forward the bipartisan, bicameral compromise proposal supported by three major congressional committees by the end of the year.

At a time when access to care is paramount to the health of our nation, lawmakers must act swiftly to provide relief to those who have been too afraid to seek medical attention for fear of receiving outrageous, unavoidable bills weeks and months after they have sought treatment.

Now is the time to protect Americans during their most vulnerable moments by ending the predatory practice of surprise medical billing.”
