Today, HB 679 was heard for a second time in the Ohio Senate Insurance and Financial Institutions Committee. ERIC sent written testimony to Chairman Hackett and Committee members prior to the hearing today, urging passage of the bill.
ERIC previously commented on the bill back in June of this year. However, we were not in support of the legislation because of several fundamental flaws that needed to be addressed within the bill.
The provisions we advocated against have since been removed and the bill in its current form is one ERIC can support.
HB 679 will be heard at least one or two more times before the Committee will vote on the legislation.
