ERIC Working with Michigan Lawmakers to Pass PSYPACT Legislation

ERIC is working with Michigan lawmakers to pass SB 758, which would allow the state to join the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT). Yesterday, ERIC provided comments for the record ahead of the Michigan Senate Committee on Health Policy and Human Services hearing, where we encouraged passage of the bill. Participation in the compact would allow ERIC member companies to expand their telehealth benefit offerings in Michigan, ensuring that patients will be able to see mental health providers in a timely manner.

During the hearing, Dr. Judith Kovach of the Michigan Psychological Association and State Senator Peter MacGregor provided testimony on the legislation. Chairman VanderWall seemed interested in the legislation as he asked about the response time in meeting with patients using telehealth versus in-person visits. We will continue to work with lawmakers and allies in the state.
