On January 8, Governor DeWine signed HB 388 into law. This is a HUGE win for ERIC and its member companies in Ohio. HB 388 creates a reasonable, market-based benchmark in surprise billing situations, taking the patient out of the middle, and providing certainty to plans, plan sponsors, patients, and providers in the state.
ERIC’s last minute push with the Governor’s Office helped to secure the passage of this vital legislation. We would also like to thank our partners on the ground for their advocacy efforts in moving this legislation through the legislative process.
