ERIC Urges Arkansas’s House Leadership to Support Telehealth Bill

On Monday, March 22, in anticipation of HB 1063 being heard in Arkansas’s House Health Care Committees, ERIC urged Speaker Shepherd to support adoption of the legislation. HB 1063 would maximize the use of telehealth technology in Arkansas by adding to the definition of a professional relationship under the state’s Telemedicine Act to include a “health care professional, who is licensed in Arkansas and has access to a patient’s personal health record that is maintained by a physician, other licensed health care professional, or local educational agency, using real-time interactive audio technology, including the telephone.”

HB 1063 passed the Senate Chamber with amendments and must be heard and passed again in the House. We are expecting a fight in the House Committees and have been coordinating with allies on the ground to gather ample support for the bill.

As always, we will keep you updated as the bill moves through Arkansas’s House Committees.
