We write to the Senate Finance Committee to share our support for the nomination of Dr. Tom Price for Health and Human Services Secretary.
The ERISA Industry Committee (ERIC) is the only national association that advocates exclusively for large employers on health, retirement, and compensation public policies at the federal, state, and local levels. Employers provide coverage for 178 million Americans. ERIC members work on behalf of their employees to improve health care quality, rein in health care costs, and develop and engage in innovative delivery system reforms.
ERIC looks forward to working with Dr. Price and the Congress on top employer priorities, such as repealing the 40 percent “Cadillac” excise tax on high-cost health insurance, and protecting the tax treatment of employer-sponsored health benefits, upon which millions of Americans rely.
ERIC applauds Dr. Price’s leadership on issues such as safe harbors for providers following care guidelines, and improvements to wellness programs and Health Savings Accounts. ERIC and its members are behind Mr. Price and welcome the opportunity to work with him.
