Today, ERIC submitted written testimony to the Washington state Senate Health & Long Term Care Committee regarding opportunities to expand and improve the delivery of health care through telemedicine in Washington.
In its testimony, ERIC asked for the language in Senate Bill 5385 to be changed so that the reimbursement rate for telemedicine services is not required to be equal to that of in-person services. If the language is changed ERIC said it would support and encourage passage of this bill. If not, ERIC stated it must oppose the bill as ERIC believes reimbursement rates should be negotiated between providers and insurers, not mandated by government.
