ERIC Sends Employee Benefit Priorities, Including Paid Leave, to the 117th Congress and the Biden Administration

Earlier this afternoon, ERIC sent two letters to the 117th Congress and the Biden Administration outlining immediate steps the two should take to help address the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as broader goals to secure both retirement and health benefits.

ERIC urges Congress to enact COVID-related provisions, provisions in bipartisan proposals that we support, proposals to modernize the 401(k) system, and protection for paid leave benefits that employers are already voluntarily providing.

ERIC urges the Administration to maintain the expansion of electronic delivery, update lifetime income disclosure requirements to reflect current practices, continue with missing participant guidance, and allow relief from single-employer Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) premiums.

We encourage you to share these letters with your contacts in Congress and the Administration to promote ERIC’s employee benefits priorities for 2021.
