This morning, ERIC joined with 90 other presidents, chief executive officers, and chairs in signing a letter sent to Majority Leader McConnell and Minority Leader Schumer urging quick action on H.R. 1994, the Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement (SECURE) Act of 2019. This legislation remains stalled in the Senate due to holds by a couple of Senators. It seems that the best hope for the legislation is to be included in an end of the year package. This letter is meant to show that there continues to be on-going support for completing this legislation.
ERIC supports the passage of this bicameral, bipartisan effort to enhance the retirement system by expanding access to retirement plans for millions of workers.
The letter can be viewed in its entirety by clicking here.
Several publications have run stories on the letter’s submission. An article by The Hill covering the letter can be viewed here.
