ERIC is teaming with the Leapfrog Group, inviting ERIC member companies to a webinar exploring how large employers use Leapfrog for value, and what public policies need to be addressed to improve health and lower costs. Leapfrog estimates that employers spend an average of $8,000 for every hospital admission on preventable errors, accidents, and infections—together the third leading cause of death in America.

Leah Binder, Leapfrog President and CEO, and Leapfrog Senior Advisor, Jill Berger, former VP at Marriott, will join ERIC staff to discuss:
1. The Leapfrog Hospital Survey and the Leapfrog Ambulatory Surgery Center Survey, which provides information unavailable in claims or anywhere else, such as standardized C-section rates, early elective delivery rates, infection rates, outcomes of high-risk surgeries, and pediatric care measures—reported publicly, by facility;
2. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade which assigns letter grades “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” and “F” to general acute-care hospitals on their record of patient safety; and
3. How ERIC, Leapfrog, and other organizations work together for a better, more cost-effective health care system, and progress on market transparency.
