New ACA reporting and disclosure rules will require employers to track and report an enormous amount of data about coverage of their full-time employees in the company’s health plan. These reporting requirements were recently delayed by one year, which provides ERIC members with an opportunity to contemplate ways in which these rules could be streamlined, and their burden on employers minimized. Toward that end, Amy Bergner, a Managing Director, Human Resources, with PricewaterhouseCoopers has volunteered to participate on this FocusOn call to guide us through the statutory requirements of IRC 6055 and 6056 and then assist us in figuring ways to minimize the burden of compliance. Our task will be to try to develop some suggestions for approaches or shortcuts (e.g., reliance on reporting that is already required) that will reduce the amount of new work that would be required of us in order to comply with the new rules.
