3/27/18 PCORI: Delivering Evidence for Employers

Tuesday, March 27, 2018 (1:30pm - 2:30pm US/Eastern)

This is a member-only call.

Authorized by Congress, the independent non-profit Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) funds comparative clinical effectiveness research. PCORI-funded research seeks to answer key patient-centered CER questions that focus on both clinical outcomes and patient-preferred outcomes.

This webinar will feature an overview discussion of PCORI’s portfolio, future direction and what is available to employers from PCORI. The session also will highlight recent PCORI-funded research and how findings on clinical and patient-centered outcomes can support efforts to enhance value in health care, including how the broad uptake of these findings on health and economics may inform decisions made by employers. Our closing conversation will focus on the need for linking broader outcomes—such as work absence and performance—to patient-centered evidence and the role of research in this need and identifying the issues and needs that employers see as relevant to maximizing the use of patient-centered evidence.

Speakers will include:
- James Gelfand , Senior Vice President, Health Policy, The ERISA Industry Committee
- Larry Becker, Former Director of Strategic Partnerships and Alliances, Xerox Corporation; member, PCORI Board of Governors
- Jean Slutsky, Chief Engagement and Dissemination Officer, PCORI
