05/14/2012-Washington Update Conference Call

Monday, May 14, 2012 (11am - 12pm US/Eastern)

The registration period for this meeting has ended.

Call Time: Monday, May 14, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, (EDT)

All ERIC members are invited and encouraged to participate in these monthly conference calls.

ERIC continues to meet with House and Senate staff to encourage recently named conferees working on the transportation reauthorization legislation to include in the final bill the Senate-approved provision to provide interest stabilization for the funding rules for defined benefit plans.

ERIC also this week plans to submit comments in response to the Treasury Department's guidance on lifetime income options released February 2012.

On the health front, the regulators continue issuing guidance on the Affordable Care Act, with the most recent set addressing, among other things, the possible approaches to defining "minimum value" for the plans of large employers. This is important because whether or not an employer's plan meets the required minimum value threshold determines whether employees may opt not to participate in the employer's plan and instead (potentially) receive a subsidy to participate in an Exchange plan.

Join us on May 14 to hear from ERIC's Health and Retirement staff for an update on these latest legislative and regulatory developments, and what else we are likely to see in the coming weeks.

To register for the call, click on the "Register Now" link at the top of this page, and follow the directions to register (note that you will need your username and password to register).
