ERIC Submits Comments on Proposed Cafeteria Plan Regulations

ERIC November 16 submitted to the Internal Revenue Service comments on the proposed regulations (issued August 6, 2007) for cafeteria plans under Section 125 of the Internal Revenue Code.

Cafeteria plan arrangements allow employers to offer their employees the option to choose between cash, or qualified benefits which are paid for by salary deductions, resulting in preferred tax treatment for the employer and employee.
