<nobr>Oct 16, 2006</nobr> Court Denies FleetBoston's Motion to Reconsider
FleetBoston Financial Corp.'s motion to reconsider a ruling denying the company's petition to dismiss charges that its cash balance pension plan discriminates against older workers was denied October 16 by the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut (Richards v. FleetBoston Financial Corp.). In March 2006, Judge Janet C. Hall found that a FleetBoston employee could continue with her claim that the company's cash balance plan violates the age discrimination prohibition of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act. |
