Retirement Plan Community Urges Conferees to Include EGTRRA Pension and Retirement Savings Permanency in Pension Reform Conference Report

Below is a letter urging conferees on the two pension reform bills (S. 1789 and H.R. 2830) to make permanent the pension provisions of EGTRRA will be sent to Capitol Hill next week. Note that EGTRRA permanency is part of the House bill, but has not been included in the Senate bill. Senate staff has indicated that they need to hear from more plan sponsors on this important issue. Several business organizations, labor groups, and individual employers have already agreed to sign on to the letter.
