<nobr>Jun 21, 2004</nobr> Letter from Senate Democrats to Tommy Thompson of HHS RE: the New Medicare Law
More than 35 Democratic Senators raised concerns over employer issues that were passed in the recent Medicare Modernization Act. In a letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson, the Senators urged the Secretary to use all of his “administrative authority to ensure that retirees are protected.” I particular, the Senators were concerned about alleged loopholes for employers to cost-shift to retirees while still receiving a full subsidy under the statute. |
