Gretchen Young Joins ERIC as Vice President for Health Policy

We are pleased to announce that, effective April 13, Gretchen Young has joined The ERISA Industry Committee (ERIC) as Vice President for Health Policy.

Prior to joining ERIC, Gretchen was Vice President of Government Affairs of Aon Consulting in Washington, DC. During her tenure with Aon, Gretchen's responsibilities included both health care coverage and retirement issues. During the past several years, she has concentrated increasingly on health care coverage and reform issues. She has authored numerous articles in benefits journals, engaged in extensive public speaking on benefits, and kept her firm and its clients informed on benefit issues through bulletins and analyses.

Gretchen comes to ERIC with extraordinary depth of experience on benefit issues. Prior to her tenure with Aon, Gretchen was a senior consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers' employee benefits and actuarial practice. She also was a Special Assistant to the Executive Director of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, and worked with Milliman & Robertson, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the Internal Revenue Service.

Gretchen will represent ERIC's major employer membership on all aspects of health reform, information technology, retiree health, comparative effectiveness, national uniformity and the host of issues affecting health care coverage. ERIC's membership, a concentration of the most effective and forward looking major employer health and retirement plans, is well positioned to make a major contribution to health reform and we welcome Gretchen’s leadership.

We are very pleased Gretchen is joining ERIC and look forward to working with Members of Congress and their staff, the Administration, and private and public stakeholders in developing and maintaining sound health coverage for all Americans.
