ERIC’s Efforts Help to Advance HSA Improvement Legislation

For Immediate Release

Washington, DC – The following statement should be attributed to Annette Guarisco Fildes, President and CEO, The ERISA Industry Committee (ERIC):

“The ERISA Industry Committee (ERIC) is pleased that the U.S. House of Representatives came together and voted to pass H.R. 6199, the ‘Restoring Access to Medication and Modernizing Health Savings Accounts Act of 2018.’

The legislation is the first practical, bipartisan opportunity to improve HSAs since they were first created in 2003. If passed into law, this bill will help to improve and modernize HSAs and the HSA-qualified plans for the more than 22 million Americans who have them. The bill would allow employers to offer more flexible, value-driven, efficient health plans paired with HSAs, to keep their workforce healthy and ensure that health benefits provide the best care at the best costs.”

Tuesday, ERIC sent a letter to all members of the U.S. House of Representatives encouraging them to vote yes on H.R. 6199. You can read that letter, here.
