ERIC Welcomes the Opportunity to Work with President Trump and His Administration

For Immediate Release

Washington, DC – The following statement should be attributed to Annette Guarisco Fildes, president and CEO, The ERISA Industry Committee (ERIC):

“The ERISA Industry Committee (ERIC) welcomes the opportunity to work with President Trump and his administration.

ERIC, the only national association that advocates exclusively for large employers on health, retirement, and compensation public policies at the federal, state, and local levels, will work with the Trump Administration to protect and support the employer-sponsored benefits system.

Employers, like ERIC’s members, add tremendous value to the health care system by developing innovative delivery system reforms, leading the transition to consumer-driven health benefits and wellness programs, as well as helping employees navigate the complex health care system.

Protecting the employer-sponsored health insurance that benefits 178 million Americans starts with repealing burdensome reporting mandates and unnecessary taxes – especially the Affordable Care Act’s destructive 40 percent ‘Cadillac’ excise tax on health benefits. That’s why ERIC is working with the new Congress to repeal this tax. We look forward to partnering with the Trump Administration to stop the damage the Cadillac tax is already doing to working families’ health insurance, to prevent any new taxes on workers’ hard-earned benefits, and to replace the ACA with market-driven reforms that can get health care costs under control.”
