ERIC Statement to Ways and Means Committee on Paid Family and Medical Leave

Today, ERIC submitted a statement to the House Ways and Means Committee in consideration of its hearing entitled, “Paid Family and Medical Leave: Helping Workers and Employers Succeed.” ERIC’s statement notes that the large, multi-state employer perspective was missing from the hearing and needs to be included in the conversation as these employers are already providing generous paid leave benefits.

The letter also explains the burdens that large employers are suffering in trying to comply with multiple state and local paid family and medical leave programs and urges the federal government to allow employers that are already providing generous paid leave benefits to be able to continue providing such benefits if a federal program is implemented.

If you have any questions or concerns about the statement, please do not hesitate to contact me.  Thank you!
