ERIC Calls on Congress to Address Multiemployer Pension Crisis

Today, the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Subcommittee of the House Education and Labor Committee held a hearing entitled, “The Cost of Inaction: Why Congress Must Address the Multiemployer Pension Crisis.’ ERIC submitted a statement calling on Congress to act immediately and comprehensively to address this crisis.

Despite having seven witnesses and good attendance from members, very few detailed solutions were discussed. The good news is that all of the panelists and members agreed that something needs to be done and needs to be done soon. Now, it’s just the small matter of figuring out what the “something” is.

Please feel free to reach out at any time with your thoughts and concerns. Thank you!
