Multiemployer Legislation Mark-up Scheduled for Wednesday

This Wednesday, the House Ways and Means Committee will mark-up H.R. 397, The Rehabilitation for Multiemployer Pensions Act of 2019. This bill is the same that passed out of the House Education Labor and Committee in June. Presumably, the bill will also pass out of the Ways and Means Committee and then the House. However, the chances for movement in the Senate is very slim as many Republicans are still opposed to using loans to address the multiemployer pension crisis.

A JCT description of the bill is provided here.
