ERIC Calls Upon U.S. Senate to Swiftly Confirm Nominations of Janet Dhillon and Daniel Gade to EEOC

Washington, DC  – The following statement should be attributed to Annette Guarisco Fildes, President and CEO, The ERISA Industry Committee (ERIC):

“The ERISA Industry Committee supports President Trump’s nomination of Janet Dhillon to chair of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and Daniel Gade to serve as a commissioner on the EEOC. The EEOC has critical work to do for America’s workers and employers, including moving forward with rules on employee wellness programs, and that work is currently in limbo because of vacancies and expired terms on the Commission. The Senate must act with urgency to fill those vacancies, and the EEOC will greatly benefit from the additions of Dhillon and Gade.

Janet Dhillon has extensive experience helping businesses understand and comply with their legal obligations, and this expertise will be invaluable as the EEOC works to strike the right balance between worker protections and the certainty and stability needed by job creators. Daniel Gade’s experience advocating for veterans, and expertise on disability and health care issues, will be an asset to the EEOC as well. The U.S. Senate should act immediately to bring their nominations up for a final vote, so that the EEOC can be made whole and get to work.

ERIC looks forward to our continued work with the EEOC, and to helping create the best possible work environment for our member companies’ employees.”
