ERIC and over 400 other companies and organizations on November 4 wrote to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) expressing opposition to H.R. 3962, the healthcare reform bill introduced in the House last week.
The letter emphasizes the lack of cost controls in the measure and also cites significant concerns with the manner in which the new legislation addresses the topics of ERISA, employer mandates, the public plan option, and a minimum benefit package.
The letter concludes by saying that, despite these major concerns, the employer community would still like to work with the leaders to achieve responsible healthcare reform.
