Shai Akabas and Brian Collins from the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) will present to you an overview of the recently released report on Retirement Security and Personal Savings. In 2014 the BPC created the Commission on Retirement Security and Personal Savings. The 19-member commission reviewed ways to strengthen retirement security. The report that Shai and Brian will review is a culmination of the findings of the commission.

I expect that a number of the recommendations contained within the report on retirement security and social security will be included in retirement discussions on Capitol Hill and throughout America. The report was released in June to much fanfare and you will be able to gain firsthand knowledge from those who played an integral role in developing the report.

Shai Akabas is the Associate Director of Economic Policy and Brian Collins is Senior Policy Analyst.
