ERIC May 2010 Washington Update Conference Call

Wednesday, May 5, 2010; 11:00 a.m. 12 noon, EDT

Now that health care reform legislation has been enacted, attention has turned to implementation and the regulatory agencies to provide guidance. To that end, ERIC has formed a Health Care Task Force that is knee-deep in the intricacies of the new law and is in the process of identifying issues that are most urgently in need of regulatory answers.

Meanwhile, the Senate began debating a broad financial regulatory reform bill (S. 3217; Restoring American Financial Stability Act of 2010), while key House and Senate committee chairmen continue negotiations over legislation to provide pension funding relief, and extend expired tax provisions, COBRA subsidy premium assistance to the end of the year, a Medicare physician pay fix, and other provisions.

Join ERIC's Health and Retirement Policy staff for an update on these and other current developments, and what else we are likely to see in the coming weeks from Congress and the Obama Administration.
